Community groups, not-for-profits, schools, and individuals have weeks remaining to apply for City of Greater Geelong funding with some deadlines as close as this Sunday.
Community organisations across the Geelong region are being urged to act quickly, with applications now open for the City of Greater Geelong’s 2026-27 community grants program and some categories closing within days.
Applications opened on Friday 27 June with more than $2.5 million in funding available across 12 categories, including arts projects, clean economy, community strengthening, First Nations, Christmas grants, and community infrastructure. Geelong Independent
Applications are open until 10 August for most categories, with some closing as early as 27 July and others as late as 31 August. Today is Saturday 25 July, meaning some applicants have only hours remaining to lodge submissions in the earliest-closing categories. Geelong Independent
The Council has noted that local community groups, not-for-profits, individuals, schools, and businesses are all eligible to apply for funding to help turn ideas that benefit the community into reality. Geelongcity
The City has made a Grant Writing for Success course available online, including videos, quizzes, and other resources to assist applicants. In-person information sessions were held at Wurriki Nyal on 8 and 9 July. Geelong Independent
