Hot weather is on the way for Victoria, and it’s important to stay safe.
Heatwaves kill more Australians than any other natural hazard, and extreme heat can affect anyone. Those most at risk include people over 65, babies and young children, pregnant women, people with acute or chronic health conditions, people who are socially isolated, and those with limited ways to keep cool.
The Victorian Multicultural Commission encourages everyone to take these steps to protect yourself and others:
• Stay cool on hot days
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Check in with family, friends and neighbours
• Plan ahead for extreme heat
