Eligible citizens from 11 Pacific nations and Timor-Leste have until 29 July 2026 to register for a permanent residency pathway to Australia.
Pacific community members in Geelong and across Australia have four days remaining to register in the 2026-27 Pacific Engagement Visa ballot before it closes on Tuesday 29 July 2026.
The Pacific Engagement Visa ballot for Pacific island and Timor-Leste nationals opened on 1 July 2026 and will close on 29 July 2026. The visa allows people from eligible Pacific island countries and Timor-Leste to live and work in Australia permanently. Australian Department of Home Affairs

Participating countries for 2026-27 are the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, and Tuvalu. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45 when the ballot opens, have been born in or have a parent born in an eligible country, Australia or New Zealand, and be able to afford the $25 registration fee as well as visa, moving and settlement costs.
